What is micellar water? And should I be using it?

//What is micellar water? And should I be using it?

Micellar water is made up of micelles (tiny balls of cleansing oil molecules) suspended in soft water. Micelles are attracted to dirt and oil, so they are able to draw out impurities without drying out the skin. It feels and looks like a toner, but excels at cleansing the skin.

Originally only dermatologists prescribed micellar water, but then makeup artists and skincare professionals caught on and the rest is beauty history.

Vita recommends Aspect Micellar Water for people with dry and sensitive skin types because it is so gentle and hydrating.

“A typical cleansing face wash can strip the skin of its natural beneficial oils and leave behind harsh chemicals. This will only exacerbate the problem of dry skin. Unlike many toners, the Aspect Micellar Water does not contain alcohol and is therefore suitable for a majority of skin types.” – Vita

How do I use Micellar Water?

It’s best to use an absorbent item like a cotton ball or pad when applying micellar water to help remove any product that may be on your face. Simply soak the cotton pad or ball with the micellar water and swipe it over your face. There’s no need to rinse after using micellar water, making it a skin-loving version of the traditional face wipe.
